The Rev. Brady Boyd of New Life Church in Colorado Springs announced this month on his blog that he’ll donate proceeds of his book, “Fear No Evil,” to the Dream Centers project.
Launching in March , Dream Centers is a handful of clinics in Colorado Springs designed to help the needy.Boyd’s book is scheduled to be released in April. Read his blog here. For another blog post about Boyd and Dream Centers, click here.
I think this is great. I will buy the book just to help the Dream Centers.
So, is New Life turning a corner in its history here? Maybe with a focus on community, love and understanding? That would be awesome and get major props even from the likes of me!
I will not be buying Leland Brady Boyd’s book. Any spiritual leader that has his type of income and keeps it secret from his members of his church is hard to take serious.
Leland Brady Boyd should act upon his own words, if New Lifers are “the most courageous and faithful people I have ever met.” then why are you ashamed of sharing your salary and benefit package as well as the salaries and benefit packages of the other executives? Why are New Life Church finances kept a secret?
I would like Leland Brady Boyd to clarify if 100% of the proceeds or just some of the proceeds from his first book go to help the Dream Center? Or is that statement kind of like talking about New Life Church helping people? Yes, they do help people, but less then 4.5% of their tithing income goes to assist people. That’s taking out the budget for executive pastors and their wives mission trips.
New Life Church just come clean and open up about how tithing is spent and how much the executive staff including Leland Brady Boyd make instead of keeping it a secret.
why do you want to know how much he is making?
I think it is a great idea that the money is going to the Dream Centers.
Seems like any time ANYONE from New Life has a good story written on them, this Macy person shows up immediately to write the same things every time.
Again Macy, Please tell us HOW MUCH DOES MR BOYD MAKE??? You keep repeating that he makes SO much money, so how exactly do you know how much he makes? Or are you, as we discovered in your earlier posts about him, just here to say bad things about him without ANY FACTS to back yourself up?
After watching the actions of people like this, if I were at New Life I would want all financial information kept silent as well! People like this always seem to find something they can complain about. It is just a pity.
Well done Pastor Boyd!
DisputeTheLies – I would love to know if she goes to new life or a different church and how much her pastor makes.
DisputeTheLies I have found most of these people are former New Life Member who are loyal to Mr. Haggard. An feel that New Life and their Pastor must answer to them because of their treatment of Mr. Haggard
All Church budget and pay should be approved by a Church Finance Committee or by Church Members which is based on the sizes of the Church.
Pastor Roy says:
“DisputeTheLies I have found most of these people are former New Life Member who are loyal to Mr. Haggard. An feel that New Life and their Pastor must answer to them because of their treatment of Mr. Haggard.”
For the most part, I believe that’s true, but also these former disgruntled New Life Members may have been some that were laid-off during a very critical time of the church and are still bitter about it. I wonder if “Macy” would be willing to tell the world her/his salary?
Btw, Macy, if Leland Brady Boyd, as you like to call him, stated that all of the proceeds go to the Dream Centers, that means 100%. All=100%
