Last Monday, Glenn Beck, the rising religious voice of American conservatism, said 10 percent of Muslims are terrorist. Usually such talk is accepted by Muslim haters and ignored by the intellectual elite because of its stupidity.
But Fareed Zakaria, a Muslim scholar and commentator on CNN, didn’t let it go. Zakaria says there are 1.57 billion Muslims in the world. Ten percent is 157 million. That means Beck is saying there are 157 million Muslim terrorists in the world, when most experts say the percentage is really o.1 percent.
Watch Zakaria go after Beck’s comment here. It’s pretty entertaining.
If you do a little research, I think you’ll find this isn’t accurate at all. Beck has never said that 10% of Muslims are terrorists, to my knowledge. Rather, he’s said that 10% are what many would consider to be RADICAL Muslims, rather than the watered-down version so many associate with this so-called “peaceful” religion. This idea, of course, is absurd. Islam was founded in blood and is all about blood. Islam doesn’t mean “peace” as so many are led to believe, but instead means “submit” as in forcing all infidels to submit through conversion or force.
To be a terrorist, you do not have to strap bombs onto your body and walk into a coffee shop. Most terrorists are only supporters of their hate with their financial contributions and spreading their words of hate. The Koran is really the center of the problem with it telling all muslims to kill non-Muslims. They call them “infidels”. Then there are also those who know of the attackers and actual suicide members that keep silent and cover for them. They are just as much terrorists as the ones who pull the trigger.
Sick ‘em Fareed! Way to go. GB is a disgrace to America.
I have admired the writing and commentaries on t.v. of Fareed. He is informed, intelligent, balanced, articulate, humble, and truthful. The exact opposite of Glenn Beck!
Makamae, if you do a “little research” you can find the video of him saying,
“What is the number of of Islamic terrorists? 1%? I think it’s closer to 10%?”
