Grandstanding or legitimate query? You decide.
Californians Against Hate, a gay advocacy group based in San Francisco, is asking the U.S. Department of Justice to investigate George Rekers, the embattled evangelical leader who has been a staunch critic of gays. Rekers, who co-founded the Family Research Council with James Dobson, is reported to have gone on a 10-day European trip with a 20-year-old male prostitute. See below posts for more details.
The group asked the department in a letter to investigate possible improprieties by Rekers, wondering, for example, who paid for Rekers’ European trip, which it estimates may have cost as much as $15,000.

Dear Attorney General Holder:
I would like to request a complete and thorough Justice Department Investigation of the reported questionable activities of Mr. George Alan Rekers.
I also seek a full and complete investigation of his past and current associates including James Dobson and his Focus on the Family of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Tony Perkins and his Family Research Council of Washington, DC, an arm of Focus on the Family. All three men are very close.
There have been numerous reports of possible illicit activities. Here are just some of the links to news coverage regarding this scandal:

Come on gazette…is this really news or are you just trying to get the hits you need? You know how both sides in these issues get heated with the mere mention of FOTF or gay rights…it’s getting old and it’s not news.
ABSOLUTELY investigate this fraud! He and his Ilk have made it their lifework to institute Draconian measures against our GLBT community. It is also time to start taxing churches and organizations like FOTF for the free pass they’ve received over the years.

This is exactly what people have been warned about when it comes to gay activism. And this is the mentally ill response to every time someone in the church gives any appearance of falling from their morals. Just moved here, but I did not know Colorado Springs had such a problem with gays or I would not have come here. That is why I stay completely away from a lot of places in California. That was, they finally had the sense to pass that proposition. Maybe even they are headed for a good change.
